Introducing the newest line of RK2 commercial foam fractionators! Our AC series is designed for lower flow rate applications while keeping the performance and quality that larger RK2 models are known for. RK2 Systems’ nearly 30 years of engineering experience, combined with extensive R&D we are proud to offer a truly commercial grade foam fractionator for aquarium professionals, home hobbyists, and aquaculture professionals alike. Design

All RK2 fractionators utilize a true counter current design. That means the incoming (dirty) water enters high on the reaction chamber or vessel. The incoming water then travels downward through the rising air, which is injected low inside the reaction chamber, before exiting the bottom of the reaction chamber. In comparison, a co-current designed model has its incoming, (dirty), water and air/water mixture entering at the same level inside the foam fractionator. Once inside the fractionator, both the incoming water and air/water mixture travel in the same direction, which offers little to no mixing and operates at a much shorter contact/dwell time.

Materials

The AC series is made from the highest quality materials available. Our ozone resistant base and transition piece are made from molded HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). The reaction chamber (body), cone/riser, and collection cup are made from acrylic. All AC Units feature a 1.5” Mazzei® venturi injector. Our venturi manifold comes complete with an air flow meter to measure airflow into the reaction chamber, an important statistic often overlooked. The air flow meter also allows you to make precise adjustments to airflow. Monitoring the airflow helps ensure proper routine maintenance and cleaning of air injector. The Venturi manifold comes standard with a separate ozone port, allowing for separate ozone injection. Both the ozone port and Mazzei® injector are made from ozone resistant Kynar®, allowing reliable and safe use of ozone without the fear of parts breaking down from exposure to ozone.

Versatility

Our AC Series fractionator offers users versatility within their LSS configuration. When paired with our standard RK2 System Pump, the AC Series is an external skimmer. For applications which require an internal/in-sump installation, the AC series can be paired with a submersible DC pump making for a seamless integration. Whether in sump or externally mounted, our AC Series is one of the most silent, energy efficient and powerful fractionators available. Energy Efficiency

The AC Series fractionators come standard with a super-efficient RK2 external System Pump. This pump operates on approximately 195 watts of power. An option to upgrade to a Abyzz A200 DC pump is available and when chosen can lower the power consumption to less than 50 watts.
